General Questions
We've been building websites and web applications since 2016 - that's over 8 years of experience. In that time, we've completed more than 100 projects for clients across Europe and beyond.
We're based in Prague, Czech Republic. While we primarily serve clients across Europe, we work with businesses worldwide thanks to modern remote collaboration tools.
Yes, fluently! We work in both English and Czech. All our team members are comfortable communicating in English, so language is never a barrier.
We specialize in MVPs, web applications, SaaS platforms, e-commerce stores, corporate websites, mobile applications, and UI/UX design. If it involves building a digital product, we can probably help.
We don't do pure graphic design (like logos or print materials), video production, content writing, on-site work, or projects in gambling/adult industries.
Both! Roughly 40% of our clients are startups and 60% are established companies. We love helping early-stage companies bring their ideas to life, and we also enjoy working with larger organizations on more complex projects.
Our clients include startups building MVPs, small to medium-sized businesses needing a professional web presence, companies launching new digital products, and agencies needing development support.
Project & Timeline
It varies by project type: Landing page (2-3 weeks), Corporate website (4-6 weeks), E-commerce store (6-8 weeks), MVP (6-10 weeks), Complex web app (8-12 weeks), Mobile app (10-14 weeks). These are estimates - your specific timeline will be confirmed in the proposal.
Sometimes, yes. If we have the capacity and the project scope is well-defined, we can accommodate rush projects. However, this may incur a 20-30% premium to prioritize your project and potentially bring in additional resources.
We typically take on 6-8 new projects per month. Depending on our current workload, there may be a 1-3 week wait before we can start. The best way to secure your spot is to reach out early.
Yes, absolutely. We'll start with a code audit to assess the current state, identify any issues, and then create a plan to move forward. We've successfully rescued dozens of projects that were stuck or poorly executed.
If delays are on our end, we absorb the cost. If they're on your end (e.g., late feedback, scope changes), we'll discuss the impact upfront and adjust the timeline or budget accordingly.
The easiest way is to schedule a free consultation call or email us at info@kosmoweb.cz. We'll let you know our current capacity and when we could realistically start your project.
Pricing & Payment
Pricing depends on project scope, complexity, and timeline. Every project is unique, so we provide a detailed quote after the discovery phase. We work with a wide range of budgets - schedule a free consultation to discuss your specific needs.
We primarily work on fixed-price contracts for well-defined projects. For ongoing work or projects with evolving requirements, we offer monthly retainer packages.
For smaller projects: 50% upfront, 50% on completion. For medium projects: 40% upfront, 30% at midpoint, 30% on completion. For larger projects: milestone-based payments tied to deliverables. We discuss payment structure during consultation.
We accept bank transfers (SEPA), wire transfers, credit cards (via Stripe), and PayPal. We're flexible and can work with whatever method is most convenient for you.
No. The only additional costs would be third-party services (like premium plugins or APIs), out-of-scope work requested during development, or hosting/maintenance after the first year - all of which are discussed upfront.
We're VAT-registered in the Czech Republic. For EU clients, reverse charge applies (you may need to self-assess VAT). For non-EU clients, prices exclude VAT.
We work on a milestone-based approval system, so you're never paying for work you haven't approved. If you need to cancel before development starts, we can discuss an amicable split. Once development is underway, we'll prorate based on work completed.
Process
Our process follows these phases: Discovery (understand your goals), Proposal (detailed scope and quote), Contract (formalize the agreement), Design (create mockups and prototypes), Development (build the product), Testing (QA and bug fixes), Launch (deploy to production), Support (post-launch assistance).
We aim to make this as hands-off as possible. You'll need roughly 8-12 hours total over the project: 2-3 hours for discovery, 1-2 hours for design approval, 30-60 minutes per week for check-ins, and 2-3 hours for final review. We handle the rest.
We use Notion for project documentation and task tracking, Slack or email for day-to-day communication, weekly video calls for check-ins, Figma for design feedback, and staging environments for development previews.
Yes, absolutely. If your project involves sensitive information, we're happy to sign an NDA before any detailed discussions.
Life happens! If you need to pause for up to 30 days, there's no penalty. For longer pauses, we'll need to discuss how it impacts the timeline and whether we need to adjust the agreement.
Technical

Absolutely. All our designs are fully responsive and optimized for mobile, tablet, and desktop devices. Mobile-first design is standard practice for us.
Yes. We implement performance best practices: image compression, lazy loading, code minification, CDN usage, and caching strategies. We aim for page load times under 2 seconds.
Basic on-page SEO is included in all projects: proper heading structure, meta tags, clean URLs, sitemap generation, and performance optimization. Advanced SEO services (content strategy, link building, ongoing optimization) are available as add-ons.
Probably! We've integrated hundreds of third-party services: payment processors (Stripe, PayPal), CRMs (HubSpot, Salesforce), email marketing (Mailchimp, SendGrid), analytics (Google Analytics, Mixpanel), shipping APIs, and many more. If it has an API, we can likely connect to it.
Ownership & Rights
You do. Upon final payment, you receive 100% ownership of everything: the code, designs, content, assets, and all intellectual property. No strings attached.
Yes, absolutely. You receive the complete source code, along with documentation on how to set it up, deploy it, and maintain it.
Absolutely. We build using standard, well-documented technologies. Any competent developer will be able to work with the code we deliver. We never lock you into proprietary systems.
Hosting & Maintenance
Yes. The first year of hosting is included in all projects. After that, hosting plans are available at various tiers depending on your traffic and requirements.
Yes. We offer three maintenance tiers: Basic, Professional, and Premium. Each tier includes varying levels of support, updates, and development hours. Contact us for a custom plan tailored to your site.
All maintenance plans include: security updates, plugin/dependency updates, daily backups, uptime monitoring, bug fixes, performance optimization, and monthly reports. Higher tiers also include development hours for small changes and enhancements.
For maintenance clients, we guarantee fixes within 24 hours (or 4 hours for Premium clients). For non-maintenance clients, we'll still help as soon as possible, billed at our standard hourly rate.
Yes, absolutely. We can deploy to any hosting provider you prefer - whether that's AWS, Vercel, Netlify, DigitalOcean, or your own servers.
