SEO
Search Engine Optimization encompasses techniques and strategies for improving a website's visibility and ranking in organic search engine results. SEO involves three interconnected disciplines: technical SEO ensuring search engines can crawl and index content properly, on-page SEO optimizing content and HTML elements for target keywords, and off-page SEO building authority through backlinks and external signals.
Technical SEO covers site speed, mobile responsiveness, structured data markup, XML sitemaps, canonical tags, and proper HTTP status codes. On-page SEO involves keyword research, content quality, title tags, meta descriptions, heading structure, and internal linking. Off-page SEO focuses on earning backlinks from authoritative domains. For web developers, SEO is fundamental because architectural decisions made during development directly determine whether content can rank. Server-side rendering, clean URL structures, proper heading hierarchies, and fast load times are all engineering concerns with direct SEO consequences.
